Education

The Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center provides a high quality education program.

School
Our educator is on staff year-round and licensed. School is held daily year-round and includes all core subjects.

We work with the student’s school of record to continue their education if applicable. This ensures a smooth transition for the student back into school once released. If the student is not enrolled in a school then we will provide daily general education focusing on all core subjects. If the student is eligible we can begin them on the path to a GED.

We also have the capability to continue the student’s education through online resources if they are enrolled through their school.

Library Services
Jackson County Juvenile Detention offers students with a full library of appropriate reading material. Our library is integrated with the Jackson County Public Library so the material is always updated.

On average each student reads 1 to 2 books per week.

Physical Education
Each day 1 hour is dedicated to physical education. This is a military style exercise routine consisting of activities such as jumping jacks, push ups, squats, mountain climbers, sit ups, and much more. This is a challenging daily program!
